Details

So the last time you played capture the flag, you were 12 and at summer camp....

now take it to a whole new level!

Meet up with us and the crew from MeetIN Philadelphia for a crazy day of urban hide, seek and Capture the Flag. We'll take over Old City (secretly) as teams race to find the other team's flag first. Cellphones and two-way radios make it easier; dodging the parking authority and maneuvering past traffic lights will make it an activity like no other.....don't miss it!

Meet us at 8th & Spruce Streets at 11 am. I'll have a meetup sign and be wearing my Get Out t-shirt. Bring your cell phone and two way radios. Everyone will get an armband designating their team's color. We'll have about half an hour of intros & strategy, then play for about 2 1/2 hours. Whoever has the most captures at the end of the game wins!

Losing team buys the first round at the after party at Kildare's Irish Pub at 2nd & South, 509 S. Second Street. If it rains, we'll make a decision to cancel by Friday night; be sure to check your email Saturday morning! The raindate will probably be Saturday, March 29...time TBA.....

A CHANGE: meetINPhilly changed their minds about bikes and blades. (sorry, maybe next time.) Only means of transportation are your feet!

Kids are welcome! But it will be an adult-paced game with an adult attitude.....you must stay with your kids since we will be crossing busy streets and roaming throughout old city. Please, no pets.

We will take up a collection to reimburse the organizers for materials purchased. If everyone shows who says they will, it will probably only be a dollar or two each.

Please RSVP responsibly. thanks.

Thanks to Adam's flawless defense strategy and some parking authority employees that doubled as spies (apparently they can benefit the city) the red team was victorious!! Sign me up for the rematch!

I am still beaming with pride that I was faster than a couple of boys I caught (I won't mention their names lest they be forever teased by the other men). And I am also glad to have learned that cheaters do NOT in fact prosper. They get hit in the face with a tree. ;-)

My favorite part was being chased down the street by a mob of women - I felt like one of the Beatles! (okay it was two girls but in my mind it was a gang) Sorry for double-dipping.

Great. Knew our group, the red group, would win because we had Adam and Andrew stalking the flag.

Well thanks to an unfortunate disagreement with a tree during an attempted jail break for the yellow team I am now the Black and Blue Guy. My face hurts and my Mommie is gonna be real angry with you guys! But it was fun! Sorry that I had to bail early - just can't handle those blows to the skull like I used to. Oh, and my apologies to the girl who I lied to about the Neutral zone - it was a survival tactic and I did pay for it in the end. Darn Karma!
