Hiking Meet and Greet

Okay official meet and greet will be held on Sunday April 30th at Castlewood Canyon State Park. We will meet at the park at 10am (9am for those carpooling, see message boards for info).

There is a trailhead near the visitor center for Canyon View Nature Trail with some picnic tables near by. We can probably meet at that location.

Please check the message boards for more information.

Bring plenty of water, good hiking shoes, perhaps a flashlight for any cave exploration (There arwe only 2 15 foot caves), hiking poles if you use them, and don't forget your camera.

When: 9am meet for car pool otherwise 10am on location

We will discuss more logistics within the message boards for those interested in attending.

Directions - Highway 83 is now open north of the East Entrance. To reach Castlewood Canyon State Park, take I-25 to Exit 182 at Castle Rock, turn east on Highway 86, go six miles to Franktown, turn south on Highway 83 (S. Parker Rd.) and go five miles south to the park entrance.

From what I can gather there is a $5 entry fee to the park unless you have the state park pass.
