The Vancouver Fruit Tree Project is a community-based, registered charity that works to increase access to fresh local fruit in communities throughout Vancouver.
Join MMA and other helpful singles as we volunteer to pick fruit that would otherwise go to waste. The Vancouver Fruit Tree Project will connect us, singles with people who have fruit trees, for the community groups that distribute the fruit or use it in their programs. We have about 12 community partners that we donate to; they are a mixture of Food Banks, Neighbourhood Houses, Community Centres, and Family Places.
With each fruit tree that we pick we are preventing many pounds of fruit from being wasted!
Picks usually take between 1 and 2 hours. You don't need to bring anything, but be sure you're wearing shoes and clothes that are suitable for climbing ladders and hanging out among tree branches!
