Beginning Whitewater Kayaking Class
May 9-10-11
There are three sessions to this event.

Learn to kayak in one weekend! One of our members, Mike Betts, in conjunction with the Conewago Canoe Club, is teaching a whitewater kayaking class on May 9, 10 and 11. This is a great opportunity to learn to kayak and have a great time on the water!

Schedule:
Friday evening: basic kayaking fundamentals in Loganville
Saturday: morning and early afternoon, kayaking on the Yellow Breeches
Sunday: morning to mid/late afternoon, kayaking on Class I or II rapids
Specific times to follow as soon as I know them as well as specific locations to meet.
You will need to attend Sessions 1 and 2 to attend Session 3 unless you have prior approval from the CCC and Mike. Please email me for details.

Cost:
$20 for 1-yr CCC membership, includes your entire immediate family and all CCC instructional classes. This can be paid the first night of class.
$1 for meetup fee
Possible equipment rental fees, if you do not have your own. Mike is going to try to help us borrow equipment for those who do not have any.
Similar classes will cost you $175-$300 dollars. This is an incredible value taught by certified instructors who want to give back to the outdoor and paddling communities.

Additional details:
A final count will be needed by Thursday, May 1st. At that time, all ?maybe? RSVPs will automatically be changed to ?no? and no more RSVPs will be accepted, unless you have your own equipment.
For those wishing to borrow equipment, you will need to email me your height and weight so a properly fitting kayak can be secured for you. I will compile the list and get it to Mike on May 1st. (Yes, I know girls, this is painful! But at least we don?t have to post it on the site!)
The CCC website is http://www.conewagoca... and has information on the club and a full schedule of classes.

Hi Phil, I just saw your comment about the class being closed. The class is full and has been for about 10 days. The 'yes' RSVPs you see appearing are where I am adding the people who had signed up for the class prior to the close date but their meetup RSVP was never updated. As organizer, I can change any members RSVP to an event. To keep my self sane as we borrow equipment, I had to have an accurate list. We may do a class later in the summer - look for it!

Tiffany, don't do that....Mike and I are working on equipment this week and will finalize on Thursday. I think we can get enough stuff....besides, you might love it and find you are suddenly serious about whitewater!

This class was AWSOME! Beautiful setting, nice people, tons of fun.
    •  This was a phenomenal opportunity for the price. Knowledgable, patient, enthusiastic instructors and a lot of adventurists looking to push their limits. I met some really great people and had a chance to get to know better the ones I had already met.

conewago canoe club did an excellent job!
    •  Instructors were very helpful, and the price was right.
