The Anchorage Adventurers Meetup Group
|
Meet others who share your interest in the outdoors: hiking, camping, backpacking; canoeing, rafting, sea or river kayaking; skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating; orienteering; dog walking; road or mountain biking; and lots of other ways to have fun outdoors. The group purpose is to get outdoor enthusiasts together, participating in our frequent hikes and other outings. Here is opportunity to meet novice as well as experienced outdoor enthusiasts. You need not worry if you are new to many of these outdoor activities; participants of all speeds, skill and fitness levels are welcomed. However, we recommend that you commit yourself to pushing your limits before signing on to participate in some of the outings. Here are some useful web links to enhance the local outdoor experinece:

Our next meeting:
Heart 'n Lunger switches to BIKE while dirt trails dry out
WHAT:
Bike ride on the Indian-Bird-Gird paved bike trail.
Indian to Bird Point is 14.2 miles round trip
Make that 26 miles round trip if you go all the way to the trail's end at Girdwood and back.
Hopefully we can get folks - at least some - to agree on a place to stop along the trail for a picnic (say maybe at the Bird Point parking lot? I do not know the trail; will have to ride it between now and then). Read more
